Experience the Greek Islands

July 3 - 29, 2010

After an incredible summer in 2009, the Greek Islands program is back again for 2010. This is a special opportunity for students to spend one month in Europe’s playground. Greece is a country rich in history, culture and geography. From the teeming city of Athens to the spectacular string of islands dotting the azure sea, Greece is famous for its music, cuisine and charming way of life.

Athens is the birthplace of democracy and students will explore the ancient Acropolis and the Plaka market. Influenced by numerous civilizations, Rhodes is a fascinating blend of art, language and architecture and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The stunning beaches and sun-drenched villages have been seducing visitors for generations.

Crete is the largest and most southerly island in the Greek archipelago. It’s visually spectacular: gorges of outstanding beauty, pristine sandy beaches, picturesque villages and the magnificent ruins at Knossos.

Greece is the ideal venue to study Exercise Science - this is the country that founded the Olympic Games. Participants can earn a personal training/fitness instructor certification (a university level exercise science credit), and be pushed to peak physical fitness. All students can choose to start the day with yoga on the beach and enjoy the spectacular sunrise! Gain a magnificent understanding of Greek culture, ancient history and Western literature while enjoying a mythical month in the sun!
