Experience Italy

Rome, Florence, Ravenna & Padua

July 3-30, 2010

Rome, the magnificent capital city of Italy, is where students will soak up the hustle and bustle that defines Italian life. In addition to the major historical sites of the Colosseum, Forum, Vatican City and Catacombs, our staff seeks out cultural experiences that foreigners rarely experience.

Our journey takes us to Florence, renowned as the capital of the Renaissance. Explore the art and architecture of a city that inspired the geniuses of the Middle Ages. A visit to Florence wouldn’t be complete without a journey into the Tuscan countryside and the quintessential hill town of San Gimignano. As well, we will travel to Pisa to marvel at the famous leaning tower.

Ravenna was once the capital of Byzantine Italy and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Gorgeous buildings, beautiful mosaics and architecturally unique churches make this one of the most popular resort towns on the Adriatic Sea.

Padua is an ancient university town and centre of learning. Birthplace of Andrea Palladio, the countryside along the Brenta canal is dotted with his architectural masterpieces. Wander down medieval streets, have lunch at a traditional Osteria and explore the famous market. From this wonderful location in northern Italy, we will enjoy trips to many romantic, cultural centres such as Venice, Verona and Treviso. No journey to Italy is complete without experiencing the splendours of Venice.
