This program introduces students to the cultural capitals of two great countries: Ireland and Italy. Our journey begins in Dublin where we will live and learn in the shadow of Irish literary and historical giants such as Oscar Wilde, Samuel Beckett and the epic James Joyce. Trinity College Dublin is ideally located seconds away from Temple Bar restaurants and the vibrant Grafton Street district, shops, theatres, cinemas and museums.
Scenic Galway is the stunning heart of Ireland’s West coast. Experience the street theatre, culture and ambience of the fastest growing and youngest city in Ireland during the Galway Film Fleadh (Festival) and the lead-up to the Galway Arts Festival. Enjoy a day tour to the Aran Islands where Irish is the everyday language and folklore and ancient culture thrives.
Explore the art and architecture of Florence, capital of the Renaissance, and a city that inspired the geniuses of the Middle Ages. A visit to Florence wouldn’t be complete without a journey into the Tuscan countryside and the quintessential hill town of San Gimignano. Students will also have the opportunity to tour the Lamborghini factory in nearby Maranello.
Rome, the magnificent capital city of Italy is where students will soak up the hustle and bustle that defines Italian life. In addition to the major historical sites of the Colosseum, Forum and Vatican City, our staff seeks out cultural experiences that foreigners rarely experience.
Our final stop will be the beautiful and charming Mediterranean town of Sperlonga. This town is a favourite vacation destination for Italians; they love the picturesque location and pristine sand beaches. Students will spend their final afternoons together relaxing on the famous beach and bodysurfing in the crystal blue waves of the sea.
