Experience Ireland & England

Dublin, Galway, Oxford & London

July 1-27, 2010

Experience Ireland and England offers the best of two great countries in four contrasting settings, each rich in history and tradition.

Dublin is the heart and soul of Ireland, and you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in Gaelic culture. Live and learn in the shadow of Irish literary and historical giants such as Oscar Wilde, Samuel Beckett and the epic James Joyce. Our residence has easy access to St. Stephen’s Green and Grafton Street -- the epicentre of U2’s “Dub” culture. Attend a Gaelic football or hurling match, see a spectacular theatrical performance and visit the Guinness Brewery.

Our journey continues to scenic Galway, the stunning heart of Ireland’s West coast. Experience the street theatre and ambience of the fastest growing and youngest city in Ireland during the Galway Film Fleadh (Festival) and the lead-up to the Galway Arts Festival. Enjoy a day tour to the Aran Islands where Irish is the everyday language and folklore and ancient culture thrives.

The historic city of Oxford, “The City of Dreaming Spires” has been host to over 1,000 years of learning within its colleges. Students will have the privilege of studying at St. Edward’s School, one of England’s pre-eminent boarding schools located minutes from Oxford’s city centre. The school boasts world class facilities including 90 acres of sports fields.

Experience the buzzing metropolis of London, the financial hub of Europe, and one of the world’s most exciting cities. Visit the British Museum, see the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace and shop Harrod’s and Regent Street. The Big Bus Tour will give you an overall impression of this great city from an open-topped double-decker bus, while a Thames River cruise to Greenwich will be a journey through history.
