Western Civilization is founded on principles developed in Imperial Rome and Ancient Greece. This program is a special opportunity to study and learn in two fascinating countries while providing a valuable foundation for all students studying history, language and culture.

Begin your journey in Florence, renowned as the capital of the Renaissance. Explore the art and architecture of a city that inspired the geniuses of the Middle Ages. Marvel at The Duomo, see Michelangelo’s tomb in Santa Croce Cathedral and visit his most iconic statue, David, who resides at the Accademia Gallery. The Uffizi Gallery is renowned as the most important collection of Renaissance art and was founded by the Medici family. A visit to Florence wouldn’t be complete without a journey into the Tuscan countryside and the quintessential hill town of San Gimignano. As well, travel to Pisa to marvel at the famous leaning tower.

Sperlonga is a favorite vacation destination for Italians. Enjoy the whitewashed houses clustered together on a steep peninsula, and explore winding streets leading to terraces above the shimmering sea. Afternoons will be spent relaxing on the famous beach and bodysurfing in the crystal blue waves.

Rome, the magnificent capital city of Italy, is where you’ll soak up the hustle and bustle that defines Italian life. In addition to the major historical sites of the Colosseum, Forum, Vatican City and Catacombs, our staff seeks out cultural experiences that foreigners rarely experience. Our 4-star hotel is perfectly located on the Via Cavour, in the heart of one of Rome’s premiere shopping districts and within easy distance to the Colosseum.

Athens is the birthplace of democracy and epi-centre of the Classical World. Tour the Acropolis and see the Parthenon and Agora. Visit the National Archeological Museum and shop in the lively Plaka market. The Hotel Stanley is perfectly located in the centre of the city with panoramic views of the Acropolis from the rooftop patio.

Crete is the largest and most southerly of the Greek Islands and is visually spectacular: gorges of outstanding beauty, pristine sandy beaches, picturesque villages and the magnificent ruins at Knossos. The island’s history has been defined by numerous civilizations and the fascinating result is a land and culture rich in art and architecture. Stay at Hotel Hermes, a truly spectacular 4-star beach resort where you can enjoy magnificent pools, lounges and the beach.
